Jacobs III Joins Green Section Staff Jacobs has a B.S. in Crop and Soil Sciences from Michigan State University and has wide-ranging experience in turfgrass management. Jacobs grew up playing golf and working on golf courses in Michigan. During college, Jacobs interned at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., and Tucson (Ariz.) Country Club. He also has excellent championship experience gained from volunteering at the 2013 U.S. Women’s Open Championship at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. and several PGA tournaments. Most recently, Jacobs was assistant golf course superintendent at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles. Jacobs’ experience with growing conditions in widely varying climates has prepared him well for dealing with the agronomic challenges unique to the Northeast Region. We gladly welcome Paul to the staff and wish him a long and successful career with the USGA Green Section. Paul M. Jacobs III is the newest addition to the USGA Green Section, joining as an agronomist in the Northeast Region. Jacobs will be based in the Easton, Pa., office with Dave Oatis and Adam Moeller as he joins the rest of the Northeast Region agronomy team that includes Jim Skorulski, Elliott Dowling and Addison Barden.
