View Update View Update Moeller Appointed Director of Green Section Education In his new role, he will oversee the Green Section’s education and outreach efforts putting a priority on creative communication of resource conservation and sustainability principles through the USGA Green Section Record and multimedia channels. He will lead the development of the department’s global strategic plan for the education projects and outreach needs on agronomic and environmental principles for the benefit of golf course officials, maintenance personnel, golfers and the general public. Moeller has been an agronomist in the Northeast Region for eight years, working with the USGA Course Consulting Service and as an agronomist at multiple USGA championships. He will continue some of those responsibilities this summer as he transitions into his new role. He leads the Green Section’s Education and Outreach staff consisting of Andrew Caron, Nick Dunlap, Matt Patalona and George Waters. Adam Moeller has been promoted to the director of Green Section Education and Outreach. Moeller, who joined the USGA in 2008, replaces Jim Moore. Jim and Kay Moore To Retire Jim Moore has worked in multiple functions over 32 years of dedicated service to the USGA. He was instrumental in leading and coordinating the collaboration of the 2004 revision of the USGA Recommendations For a Method of Putting Green Construction. Most recently, Moore led the USGA Green Section Education and Outreach program. During his tenure, Moore also provided years of dedicated service as a member of the USGA Green Section Turfgrass and Environmental Research Committee, a role in which he will continue after retiring. Both Jim and Kay have made lasting impressions on the USGA and the golf industry through their combined 64 years of service. They will be missed by their USGA colleagues and the thousands of golf courses they helped along the way. If you know the USGA Green Section, then you are bound to have had the pleasure of interacting with Jim or Kay Moore, both of whom will retire on June 1, 2016. Both Jim and Kay joined the USGA Green Section in 1984 as director of the Green Section’s former Mid-Continent Region and as administrative assistant for the region, respectively.
