My name is Chris Lambert. I revitalize urban neighborhoods and I am a proud husband and father of two young boys in the City of Detroit. Even though I'm very passionate about my faith, I've intentionally created a non-religious organization because as someone who's a follower of Jesus, I'm actually very disappointed by much of what the church does and what much of the church represents today in that creating this very exclusive culture. And what we've created here is really an opportunity for a community to be revitalized in an ethical way where a variety of sectors are engaged that don't normally work together and play well with each other. We're convinced here in Detroit, that if neighborhood revitalization is gonna be sustainable, you must have a city and suburban long term ongoing relationship that's equitable, that's lifting up the voice of the community and working together to create those opportunities. So we have partnerships here in the community with long term residents, who know this neighborhood inside and out, as well as a wide variety of corporate partners and faith based partners and political entities working together to say, how can we really make a difference? To me, it's an opportunity to see if it really can be done. And so far, I'm seeing the results of forward progress, but it still feels unknown as to how it's really all going to come together. I get excited about seeing people work together, that were not working together. The future feels like neighborhood revitalization that the community can be proud of. And in community revitalization you've got to have that combination of both - where you’ve got to know what you actually do bring to the table and walk in that. But you also got to know that, you have more to learn, than you have to give.
