My name is Efe Bes, number one drummer on the Planet, a proud African, born in Detroit, raised in America. A Black man in America has a European foundation. It may be painted Black. It may be done Black. But Black is powerless without a foundation in culture and we have no African culture as a foundation, so we really have no solutions outside of White people solutions. And if we look at the world, it's in disarray and White people are in charge of the world. So that can't be the solution. My whole music introduction was through DJing, I saw Aretha Franklin come in one night, I said, that's Aretha Franklin. I said, so how are you going to get her your card? So she had a ring of bodyguards, and I just waited till all of them were looking the other way and I went and slipped her my card, I got a call within a week and I became her personal DJ for like four years. I started researching Africa, I started researching ancestral communication, and it's really the only thing that’s real. That's how I learned how to play the drums, there was nobody who showed me, except for the ancestral communication. That's been the biggest, most significant thing to happen to me in my life.
