An accident occurred upon the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway at Ishpeming on the 20th day of May 1884 at 345 o'clockpm caused by breaking of a compromse draw bar, while making a coupling between and ore car and a box car. End of the bar flew up and struck dennis Varduan, brakeman, breaking his collor bone and cutting his head. Was off duty for four weeks but is at work again. Casualties - one employe injured.

Durning Sunday's blow a tree feel across the track at a place called the Sink Hole, about midway between Champion and Michigamme. The tree was discovered by the track men and the portion of it may lay on the track was removed. In falling, the tree in some manner injured the track, probably by spreading the rails. This was not noticed by the track men. When passenger train number 4 reached the place the next morning, the train was ditiched. The engine, a car loaded with wood and the baggage...

The Delay, Short Steam and Qntiqueated, how trains are run and how people like it. The time Tables oreded out until steam can be raised. Last week the Iron Ore had something to say about the methods of running trains on the DSS&A railroad; it did not believe that such an enterprise would be allowed in the disgraceful positon it had occupied for weeks, without some effort to check the palsy that was attacking its fame.
