Fully 600 men are now making the dirt fly on the Sault branch of the DSS&A, over 100 Italians have been received from Buffalo this week, while the contractors are picking up all the men neaer there they they can get. No trouble is being experienced from water, as some had feared, as the snow has been disappearing so gradually as not to cause any thing of a flood in the lowlands.

Kuafman & Sons are selling tickets for the first DSS&A train, and a glance at the crown in front of their store every day now will show what a rush there is to see the train arrive and depart. The traick is a little heavy, the bassast being poor. The train manages to make scheduled time and proves such an attraction that a special policman will be necessary on that part of front street. Grown people, as well as children stop to watch a real steam locomotive, not ten inches long, whizz around...

The cars are marked DSS&A in honor of the new road. The train is the best window attraction to be seen in Marquette.
