October 22 - 28, 1995 Traditional Communication/Oramedia and Develop- ment, as the theme for the 1995 Annual Conference of ACCE, will make it possible for governments, NGOs and development agencies, whose work and services are based on social communications, to collaborate with ACCE in considering how traditional communication can interface with the modern mass media in the criti- cal task of educating, in- forming and mobilizing de- velopment audiences. The following areas of so- cial communication will be focused in the context of traditional communication and oramedia: Education: Instructional, Pedagogical and curricular concerns, Environment: Protection, Education, Degradation and Management Issues T he late Franl< Health: Family Life, AIDS, Reproductive Health, Population and Child Survival, Gender: Women Empowerment, Discrimination, Roles, Images and Professions Politics: Democracy, Governance, Media Politics and Milita- rism.
