Sexual harassment in Zimbabwe's institutions of higher education
The extent to which sexual harassment takes place in institutions of higher education such as universities, polytechnics and teachers' colleges is investigated in this study. Two thousand seven hundred and fifty-six female students responded to a questionnaire on sexual harassment. After quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data, the study reveals that in almost every institution of higher learning in Zimbabwe there exists a significant number of male lecturers who sexually harass female students. Recommendations on how the situation could be improved in order to create a freer and safer campus environment as well as suggestions for More research are made.
