ROBERTSUNIVERSITY OF RHODESIASALISBURY© University of Rhodesia, 1974* VI Ł"Printed in Rhodesia by Sebri Printers (Private) Limited, MsasaZAMBEZIAZambezia has been subtitled A Journal of Social Studies in Southern and Central Africa but thesubject range of articles published has tended to become broader, as indeed can be seen fromthe contents of this issue, with articles on Shona literature and music. It has therefore beendecided to sub-title Zambezia simply as The Journal of the University of Rhodesia to take accountof the wider interests of members of the University of Rhodesia. Nevetheless the focus of thejournal will remain the societies on and around the Zambezi.Concurrently with this change of sub-title, the format of the journal will be changed to asomewhat smaller, handier size. The first issue in this new format will be the next issue, Volume4, No. 1 with a cover date of December 1975, which will be published in April 1976; the maincontents of this issue will be those papers of the Rhodesia Scientific Association's Congress in1974 which dealt with problems of management. This issue will be followed by Volume 4, No. 2with a cover date of December 1976 which will be published by that date, and will consist mainlyof articles on social change among Rhodesian Africans. Thereafter it is hoped that there will bean annual volume published in two parts; and the Editor now invites contributions for publica-tion in 1977.ORDERSThe Journal is available from the Publications Department of the University of Rhodesia,P.O. Box MP45, Mount Pleasant, Salisbury, Rhodesia.Price Rh$2,50 in Rhodesia, US$6,50 outside Rhodesia. The best way to ensure copies of Zambezia is to place a Standing Order, under which theinvoice is sent at the time of dispatch of the journal (back issues are also available at a cost ofRh$3,00 in Rhodesia and US$7,00 outside Rhodesia).Supplements: There will also be published each year a number of supplements to Zambezia. These will usually be short monographs but they may comprise several articles on a particulartheme.
