Car Ferry Grand Haven
The Grand Haven was built in Toledo, Ohio in 1903. In 1909, the ferry was en route from Grand Haven, Michigan to Milwaukee, Wisconsin when she helped save the Rouse Simmons, a distressed schooner loaded with Christmas trees, by towing it to Milwaukee (the Rouse Simmons did go down with all hands three years later). She was laid up in 1931 and sold for use between Florida and Cuba in 1946. She was laid up again in 1960 and sailed briefly on Lake Erie in the 1960s; the Grand Haven sank at dockage on Cleveland's Old River Bed in 1969 and was sold for scrap.
