Because we believe introductions enhance appreciation, we
would like to introduce the 1959 Echo to you.

As you turn the pages of this annual, we hope you shall realize
that the theme is “cowboys and Indians” and that we have attempted
to record here the activities of this school year in a currently
popular western setting.

With this theme in mind, the Art Staff, under direction of Mrs.
Kilburn, has originated all the art work including the cover. The
*59 Echo is truly a Bentley book.

The businesses who have been generous enough to advertise in
our yearbook deserve your recognition too. Without them the price
of this book would be greater, and we urge that you express your
appreciation by patronizing them.

To you, Mrs. Bessie Knickerbocker, the students of Bentley
Senior High School dedicate the 1959 Echo in recognition of seven
years of fine work at Bentley and because in June of this year you
are retiring from teaching.

Your record here is a rather unique one in that you have always
sponsored the present senior class and are now “graduating” with
them. They have been tagged as “your kids” particularly, but
everyone of us is grateful for your expert instruction in English
classes and for your insistence on proper conduct and accomplish-
ment.

With the passing of years, we know that our appreciation of your
work will grow, and that we can look back with some small measure
of satisfaction at this dedication page.
