GRAND RAPIDS” (UPI) —
Contract negotiations between
Munson Medical Center of:
Traverse City and Local 398 off
the Hospital, Restaurant and’
Hotel Employes have been held:
up temporarily in order to set-
tle unfair labor charges and a
move to “decertify” the local,
as- bargaining agent.
- The union had threatened a
strike against the medical cen-
‘ter but postponed the walkout
‘date.
_ Hyman Parker, head of .the
Michigan labor mediation office
at Detroit, said the local, which:
repr esents 280 non-professional
employes at the center, has,
filed . unfair ‘laboy charges.
against the medical center.

In another ‘developmenit, em-
ployes started a move to decer-
tify the local‘“as bar gaining
agent, In or der to petition to.
decertify a union, more than
30 per cent -of - its: members
must petition the Labor -Media-
tion Board, Parker said. He.
said the petition would be
studied.
