percent from 1977 to 1978; are continu-
ing to rise locally, hospital. officials
reported. But voluntary cost control ef-
forts seem to be slowing down the rate
of increase. .

The corporate membeiship ‘named
Dr. Laurence Skendzel of Traverse City
to fill a vacant seat on the: 13-member
board of trustees: Skendzel ‘replaces.
retiring trustee Dr. C.A. Wagener, who
has served on the board since 1967. Re-
elected to terms on: ‘the ‘board.:were
