Source: Acts of the Legislature of the State of Michigan Regular Session of 1865 Act No. 67, page 84+ An Act to allow increased rates of fare for passengers on any railroad in the Upver Peninsula, for a limited period. Section 1. The People of the State of Michigan enact, That all railroad companies now existing, or hereafter organized, whose line of road lie in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in whole or in part,..shall have the right, for three years after this act shall take effect to charge and collect fares from passengers traveling in their cars at the rate of four cents per mile, on any such portion of their respective roads as may lie in said Upper Peninsula, any = law of this State to the contrary notwithstanding.
