Source: The Mining Journal Marquette, Mi. November 27, 1886 The DSS&A Directors Wednesday there were two extra cars attached to C&NW passenger No. 1. They were the "Monon" of the Louisville, New Albany & Chicago Ry., and No. 25 of the New York, Chicago & St. Louis Ry. -the Nickle Plate line. The cars contained the directors of The DSS&A, of which the MH&O is a part. The two cars were attached to engine no. 39 of the MH&O and baggage car no. 18, and were taken to Houghton in charge of engineer McCormick and conductor Johnson. Manager John Hornby, of the MH&O met the directors here and ac- companied them over the western portion of the road. The visit of the directors is for the purpose of looking over the two roads which will form a part of their new trunk line. RSSRA MH&O
