The Marshall Statesman, Marshall, Mi., claims that the syn-
dicate that recently purchased the M&O* is the same that also
purchased the DM&M and other connecting lines in the upper pen-
insula and that they intend to push the M&O* to the straits and
then ship grain and other products at Duluth directly over their
own continuous line to Toledo and thence to the east. The States-
Man predicts that the extension north from Marshall is but a ques-
tion of time.
