Commencing the Transfer

John Hornby, general manager of the MH&O and Andrew Watson,
of the DM&M, on Monday morning met with James McMillan at De-
troit and turned over to him the management of both roads,
which he will hold until they are merged with the DSS&A. Ar-
rangements have been completed for the S. S. Marie bridge,
the two companies holding charters from the Canadain and Amer-
ican governments have consolidated. Plans have been prepared
and the contracts will be let as soon as the secretary of war
has approved. The bridge will cost $1,00,000 with massive
stone and iron abutments. The draw will be 375 feet long.
