Accident Report - May 28, 1887. An accident occurred upon the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway at Clarksburgh on the 28th day of May 1887, at 150 o! clock P. M. caused by: Rail in siding turning over as train was pessing through. The main track was occupied by a disabled engine, with train going west, while the train coming east was passing through on side track. The rails in siding were poor, the engine was one of a new lot recently received, heavier than previous equipment, and when nearly in tront of the disabled engine the inner rail on siding pressed over, letting engine more toward main track. Pilots of engines were broken and some drawbars on ore train. Track blocked for 4 hours, no persons injured. (Sidings between Ishpeming and Michigamme are being relaid with steel). Casualties - None.
