Accident Report - July 19, 1887. An accident occurred on the )yluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway at Sault Junction on the 19th day of July 1887, at 525 o'clock A. M, caused bys Open switch ( when night train West passed there at 115 A. M. switch was set for main track ). Wight express east found switch set for siding in place of main track. Before it could be stopped it ran in on siding, coming in contact with tender of engine standing on siding, damaging tender, also breaking pilot of train engine and drawbar between engine and baggage car. Train-was delayed some 3 hours, arriving at St. Ignace 2% hours late. No persons injured either passenger or employe. Casualties - Nones Aa Watson, General Superintendent.
