Accident occurred upon the Duluth
An accident occurred upon the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway at Marquette Station, on the 19th day of September 1887 at 830 o'clock P.M. caused by: Switchman named Robert Dorie getting his head injured. He was unfastening a chain between two dump cars on the coal dock and while stooping to do so brakeman gave a signal to engineman to back up (not knowing what Dorie was doing). Dorie felt motion and withdrew as far as possible, but was caught by end still projection and head injured. Scalp wound and one ear (partly gone) getting along all right, expect to resume duty in a few days. Casualties caused by the above accident, 1 employee injured.
