March 5, 1887 Saturday Duluth to Boston Telegrams from New York state that the articles of association will be filed for a railway company to acquire the new line now building at Brockville, through New York state, to a connection with the Boston & Hoosac Tunnel RR., and which is to form the Masschusetts link of the extensive system which is to bring Bos- ton 270 miles nearer Duluth. The name of the company will be the Northern Pacific & Atlantic Ry., company. The following gentle- men are understecd to be the incorporators: Samuel Thomas and Calvin 5S. Brice, owners of the DSS&A Ry.; Alpha Parrish of the St. Lawrence River Bridge and road from Brockville to S. 8. Marie; Robert 3. Minturn and George Warren Smith, Austin Corbin, president of the Reading & Philsadlphia; Thomas B. Fowler, president of the New York Ontario & Western; Frank K. Pendleton, George A. Haker and H. E. Fanestoek of the First National Bank of New York. It is said that operations on the road will begin immediately.
