April 30, 1887 Saturday The DSS&A Time Card The first time card of the DSS&A goes into effect Sunday next, May 1, and the arrangement of trains will be such as to afford ample accommodations to the traveling public. The through service, will for the present consist of one train which will run daily, Sundays included, between St. Ignace and Houghton, leaving the first mentioned point at 6:50 am, arriving at Marquette at 12:40, leaving Marquette at 1:00 and reaching Houghton at 5:35 pm. Returning the train will leave Houghton at 9:10 am, arrive at Marquette at 1:45 and at St. Ignace at 8:40 pm. Connections at all point will be main- tained, and in order that this may be assured, it is the de- termination of the management to dispatch trains promptly, and it will be well for parties having baggage to check to bear in mind that it should be ready for weighing and checking at least 15 minutes before the departure of trains. Round trip tickets at reduced rates will be placed on sale at all sta- tions as rapidly as the can be supplied. It is desirable that transportation should be purchased at the offices of the company, and to insure this, conductors will be instructed to collect 5ยข per mile for all fares paid on trains from stations where tickets are on sale. It is probable that a night train will soon be put on, as the road bed along the entire line is being put into first class con- dition now that the frost is out of the ground. The train service bids fair to be of high character, as it should be on a road now thoroughly equipped. The ice is now out of the straits of Mackinaw and the transfer of cars at St. Ignace has begune DSSRA Passenger
