During the winter the ore hoisted from pits seven
During the winter the ore hoisted from pits seven and eight of the Jackson mine, wre stacked near the DSS&A mainline. A wall was built of the heavier chunks and braces were used, but some snow or ice must have packed into the wall, for Wednesday morning the stockpile caved outward on to the South Shore main line and the C&NW Spur. Some of the early ore trains on the DSS&A were necessarily detained and until the ore was removed and the work loading the cards was hindered. Otherwise no damage was caued by all of ore.
