January 13 - DSS&A surveys between the Sault and Soo Junc-
tion completed.

February 25 - The Sault & Marquette, the Wisconsin Sault
& Mackinac and the DSS&A consolidate.

March 13 - "Soo road contractors arrive in the Sault, and
sub-let part of the work.

April 4 - Contract for International bridge let to R. G.
Reid.

May 10 - ingineers completed work laying out international
bridge.

May 11 - Excavation work begun for the bridge.

May 14 - First arrival of navvies for railroad work.

August 23 - One of track gang on DSS&A killed.

September 16 - First train arrives in the Sault.

September 27 - Directors of the DSS&A arrive and lunch alone.
October 8 - Raft wrecks false work of: bridge.

November ? - Marquette excursion occurred.

December 1 = CPR reaches bridge.

December 3 ~ Soo road arrives.

December 26 ~ Draw bridge swings for first time.
