"The Soo-Mackinac Short Line" Marquette, Michigan Jan. 2, 1888 To Ticket Agents and Connections: We regret to announce that owing to the non-completion of our transfer ferry "St. Ignace," and the inability of one boat to make connections across the Straits of Mackinac with double daily trains service we must for the present discontinue run- ning our night trains between St. Ignace and Houghton and they have accordingly been abandoned. An early completion of the new boat is anticipated, when the train service which has given such general satisfaction will be resumed. Meanwhile the staunch and reliable steamer "Algomah" will perform her regular trips in conneetion with the fast day express, having Wagner parlor cars attached, which will continue as heretofore, and no pains will be spared to meke connections at all points for the accommoda- tion of through travel. Yours truly, E. W. Allen Gen. Pass. & Tkt. Agent SSeA MSSM&A Passenger MT Co.
