The contractors for the new ore dock received their pile
driver and other machinery and have commenced the preliminary
work. It is not expected to commence driving piles much be-
fore the first of February, but when they do get started it
is the intention to hammer ‘em in at the rate of 100 per day.
The timber contractor is also here getting his crews organized
in order to commence the work of shaping the timbers. The
dock will be ready for the reception of ore by the opening of
navigation.
