Michael Mahan, one of the oldest engineers on the DSS&A, has
been promoted to Road Foreman of Engines. His duties will con-
sist in being everywhere present on the road and to see that the
engineers and firemen attend to their duties properly while on
the road and to assist the superintendent of motive power and
machinery by suggestions and accurate reports of the work per-
formed by the engines and their crews, etc.

D. C. Mulvilhill, formerly with the Pennsylvania, has been
appointed Master Car Builder. This is a new office on this road,
this branch of work having heretofore been in charge of the Mas-
ter Mechanic. The latter can now give his whole time to the care
of the motive power.
