Struck by the Engine

The freight train which arrived here at one o'clock Mon-
day night brought a man named Stanley Colquist, who was bad-
ly injured. He was standing on the track near Au Train, and
not appearing to hear the warning whistle of the engine, was
struck and hurled off the track. One leg and one arm were
broken, and there is a terrible gash over his eye and his
nose is smashed. Just before the arrival of the train, a
telephone message to the Northwestern hospital called for a
team and physician to meet him at the depot. The request was
promptly complied with, and the unfortunate man was taken to
the hospital where his woulds were dressed. Yesterday he was
removed to the county poor house, as no one appeared to be with
him to pay the necessary expenses of attendance upon him. He
is doing well and probably will pull through.
