Source: The Mining Journal Marquette, Mi. January 19, 13889 Chas. Rossiter, foreman of the maching shop will take Mr. Turner's place as general foreman, filling both positions for the present. Mr. W. H. Boeh, superintendent of bridges and buildings on the South Shore, is on work on the plans for a new depot at L'Anse, to replace the one burned recently. The new depot will be built where the old one stood. David Sutton, master builder of the South Shore road, has resigned. As the appointment of a superintendent of build- ings and bridges takes away much of the importance of the pos- ition held by Mr. Sutton, it will probably be abolished and a general foreman be appointed by Mr. Boeh. D. M. Philbin passed north last Wednesday morning (having tarried here*over night to greet old friends) to take charge of the docks of the South Shore road, all of them, and the business transacted thereon, a position for which he is em- inently fitted both by nature and by experience acquired ina similar position here. We don't know the title nor the pay, but as he left a good superintendency in Nebraska to take it, both are no doubt satisfactory. - Tran Port * Escanaba
