Source: The Mining Journal Marquette, Mie September 7, 1889 Saturday Accident to a Railroad Man Last Wednesday, Mr. William Earl, foreman of the section hands in Marquette city yards of the DSS&A received quite pain- ful injuries. He was engaged with his crew of men in laying a rail, when a passenger locomotive struck him in such a way as to inflict severe scalp wounds. The company's surgeon dressed the wounds and Mr. Earl will be able to be out in a few days.
