New Approach to No. 3 Dock

The South Shore has notified Alex Grant to remove his house
which stands on the company's lands south of the approach to
the dock upon which work will begin immediately. The new ap-
proach will be of curved form and will join the main track
near the site of the old Northwestern Hotel. It is chiefly de-
signed to take away the empty ore cars, thus relieving the pres-
sure and traffic at the crossing of Front and Superior streets.
The South Shore will not let a contract for this approach but
will do the work itself.
