It is said that Senator McMillan finds his senatorial duties
incompatible with the onerous labors of railroad management.
It is claimed that he will premptorily refuse a re-election to
the presidency of the DSS&A at the meeting of stockholders to be
held July 17. It is also expected that he will retire from any
active part in the management of the MH&O, M&W and the Inter-
national Bridge Co., enterprises, auxiliary to the DSS&A. Gen-
eral Thomas, a director of the road, is mentioned as the Sen-
ators successore
