Source: The Daily Mining Journal, Marauette, MI- i Thursday, January 8, 1891 Slight Smash-Up & bad wreck occurred on the South Shore neer the suburbs of Eagle Mills, Tuesday, which delayed the 8:30 pm passenger one hour. As the early eastbound into the Eagte Mills station the hind truck of the last coach jumped off the track and ran along the rail of a side track until the twisted coach ran up against a flat car loaded with logs. When the car left the treck the engineer was signalied and had siacked up speed sufficiently sc that the wreck was confined to the derailed car. Those in the car at the time were badly frightened but none were injured. The damaged coach was detached from the train which then proceeded on to Marquette. A wrecking cars was dispatched io the place and nad the treck clear insided of two hours. VOSSKA RY. Passenger
