A report reached this oity early in the week, that CGendéral
Manager Fitch resigned his position with the DSS&A. The re-
port came by telegraph from Milwaukee. The Democrat asked lir.
Fitch immediately upon his return from Montreal whether the
report was true and was glad to receive his answer, "No."

Mr. Fitch's resignation would be a serious blow to the railroad
interests of this city.
