August 6, 1892 Soon To Be a Shipper Ishpeming - At the Iron Center property, near Union Park, the shaft is to be enlarged from its present size to 6 x 12 feet, and newly timbered from bottom to top. After this is dene, work on another level will be started. The shaft is down 65 feet and when dropped to the new level it will be 100 feet deep. Negotiations are pending for the sale of a large portion of the ore already in stock. A side track connecting with the DSS&A will be built to the mine soon and the shipment of ore will then commence. The management which is made up entirely of Ishpeming men, expect to ship at least 5,000 tons of ore before navigation closes. As work progresses, the mine continues to look more promising and the parties interested feel greatly pleased at the outlock of the property. DSSRA Iron Center
