First Doebler Barn, with windmill
First barn on John Doebler farm, on Canal Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Standing amongst fifty cords of wood are John Doebler (1860 - 1930) with beard, unidentified man with bowler hat, 4 children, Martha Doebler (1862 - 1947). The windmill was used to grind feed, pump water, saw wood, and run a grindstone. This barn was moved to the neighboring Glawe Farm in 1909, and a new ultra modern round roof barn was built.
