Inscribed on photo back: Packard archives indicate facelift for Clipper was originally planned for twenty-first series, by 1942 the heavier front end and hidden headlights had appeared on a front-end-only facelift, this evolved to a more streamlined hood with hidden headlamps by 1944, in 1945 artists retouched a photo of a production 1942 Clipper, using the proposed new lines, around the same time the more elaborate custom eight grille work was emerging, finally came the production prototypes, with completely altered fuselage and flow-through fenders.
