Black and white postcard of six women school teachers sitting on fire escape outside school, Alden, Michigan, ca. 1920. Message on back: 'Dear Franklin:- How is this for a bunch of 'old maids,' teachers at that. This is some of my own work. What do you think of it? Bill. I didn't take the picture but I did the rest.'
