He had been. in poor health for two years. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Earle Little Funeral Home, Bacarella Chapel. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday : at the funeral WILLIAM J. home. The Rev. ANTEAU William Fisher, : pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Born March 26, 1929, in Mon- | roe, he was the son of A. Edgar (Cy) and Elizabeth (Galvin) Anteau. He married Frankie Lee Shoffner Oct. 16, 1948, in Monroe. She died Jan. 31, 1996. He was employed for many years by Consolidated Paper Co., North Side, until the plant closed. He was the union stew- ard. He served as a sergeant in the Army until being discharged in June 29, 1948. A lifelong area resident, he attended St. John Catholic Grade School. He graduated in 1947 from Monroe High School, where he served as captain of the football team. He also was active in the Monroe Fast Pitch Softball League; he played for Caspers Market, which won a string of state championships. An avid University of Michigan | fan, he enjoyed hunting in the Upper Peninsula. Surviving are a son, Richard A.W. of Toledo; a daughter, Sheryl Bourgeois of Monroe, a brother, Ralph of Lavallette, N.J.; two sisters, Josephine Nickles of Tucson, Ariz., and Bertha (Sis) Robinson of Mon- roe; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. / In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two broth- ers, Albert and Allen, and a sis- ter, Virginia (Tootsie) Anteau.
