firefighter William J. Allen, 72, of
Monroe, who died at 10:40 p.m.
Tuesday in his home.

_ Born July 21, 1927, in Detroit, he
was the son of Joseph Dixon and

Eva Marie (Trombly) Allen. He

married Darlene Ziegler Oct. 25,

1975.

Formerly of Miami, Mr. Allen
was a firefighter there for several
years, retiring in 1972.

- He was raised in Glens Falls,
N.Y., where he attended high
school. He enjoyed traveling and
spending time with family and
friends, |

Surviving are his wife; two sons,
William Jr. of Miami and Dale of
Surfside, Fla.; a brother, Fred of |
Sandusky, Ohio; seven grandchil- |
dren, and seven great-grandchil- |
dren. ' |

He was preceded in death by a |
daughter, Mary Ann Bryan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials |

Hospice of Monroe or the Cancer |
Society of Michigan.
