Allen, 72, of Monroe, who died at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday in his home. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Allore Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 7. He will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until services at 10 at St. Charles | Catholic Church, |. S Newport. The Rev. William. Tindall, coe 2: pastor of the church, will offici- ate. Burial will be private. _ Born July 21, 1927, in Detroit, he was the son of Joseph Dixon and Eva Marie (Trombly) Allen. He married Darlene Ziegler Oct. 25, 1975. Formerly of Miami, Mr. Allen was a firefighter there for several years, retiring in 1972. - He was raised in Glens Falls, N.Y., where he attended high school. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, | Surviving are his wife; two sons, William Jr. of Miami and Dale of Surfside, Fla.; a brother, Fred of | Sandusky, Ohio; seven grandchil- | dren, and seven great-grandchil- | dren.
