fy — %. se? per: 2, 1999 izabeli Elizabetit Mary Ausum May 22, 1905-Jan. 4, 1999 LIVONIA — Elizabeth Mary Ausum, 98, of Livonia, a former elementary teacher in Flat Rock, died Monday in Marywood Nurs- ing Center. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock, where a Scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. at St. Roch Catholic Church, Flat Rock. The Rev. Frederick Misiolek, pastor of the church, will officiate. Bur- jal will be in Michigan Memori- al Park, Flat Rock. Born May 22, 1905, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Shanaban) Lyons. She married Dr. Charles Ausum April 11, 1925, in Detroit. He died July 22, 1983. She was a teacher at Huron Township Elementary Schools and the Flat Rock Schools. She was a charter member of the Flat Rock Women’s Study and a member of St. Roch’s Asso- : ciation for Women. She was a past member of UW, Birchwood Association of Mullett Lake, Cheyboygan County. She grew up near Birch Run and attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She grad- uated from Wayne State Univer- sity, Detroit, in 1951, with a bach- elor of arts degree in elementary education. Surviving are two sons, John D. of Tryon, N.C., and James C. of Seattle, Wash.; three daugh- | ters, Mrs. William (Janice) Thompson of Potomac, Md., Mrs. James (Mary) Batcheller of Trenton and Donna French of Livonia; 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul E., and three brothers, Joseph, Edward and James Moore. Memorials may be made to the St. Roch Building fund.
