“Wend: Oat 1G 2obo Norvell RO (Bud) Barties Jr. July 14, 1928-Oct. 14, 2000 FLAT ROCK - Services have been set for Norvell Richard (Bud) Barnes Jr, 72, of Flat Rock, who died Saturday at Garden City Hospital, Garden City, Friends may call until 9 tonight at Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 8. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Roch Catholic Church. The Rev Frederick Misiolek, pastor of the church, will officiate. Cremation will take place, under the direction of Southern Michigan Services. Born July 14, 1928, in asso, Mo., he was the son of Norvell and Helen (Percell) Barnes Sr. He mar- ried Beverly Saul Dec. 2, 1950, in Detroit. A Chrysler employee for 37 years, he retired in 1988 as main- tenance supervisor at the compa: ny’s Trenton engine plant. For more than 20 years, he also served on Flat Rock Planning Commission. ! Mr Barnes was a Flat Rock resi-- dent for more than 32 years and was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church and Father John Hubert Council 5446, Knights of Columbus, where he was a fourth- degree member. He enjoyed hunt- ing, fishing and bowling. os Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Noreen Borawski of South Rockwood, Margaret Lee of Merkel, Texas, and Angelia Darty ' of Flat Rock; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward, and a sister, Daisy Simms. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Fund.
