Mellennee Cosby, 71, of Mon-

roe died 6:30 p.m. Thursday at
Mercy Memorial Hospital, where
she had been patient for the last
week. She had
been in poor
health for many
years and seri-
ously ill the past
two months.

Monday in the funeral home with
the Rev. Guy Ervin of First Chris-
tian Baptist Church, Newport,
officiating. Burial will be at
Roselawn Memorial Park,
LaSalle.

ton Gap, Va., she was the daugh-
ter of Monroe and Pearl (Young)
Roberts. She married Hubert
Cosby on Aug. 16, 1952, in |
Jonesville, Va. He died Nov. 19,
1984.

She was a member of the First
Christian Baptist Church and the
Frenchtown Senior Citizens Cen-

Surviving are a son, Eric A.
(Tony) Cosby Sr. of Monroe; a
daughter, Teresa Cosby of Mon-
roe, and three grandsons.

She was preceded in death by
her parents; a sister Pauline
Livesay, and a brother, Roy E.
Roberts.
