Monroe died at 11 p.m. Sunday
at Mercy Memorial Hospital.
He had been ill for 10 years.

Born March 23, 1924, in
Dundee, he was the son of
Clyde M. and Gladys M.
(Bushroe) Cowen. He married |
Delores R. Dussia Oct. 4, 1947.
She died Feb. 7. :

He worked for Jones
Transfer Co. of Monroe, retir-
ing in 1984.

He served in the Army dur-
ing World War II.

He is survived by ason, Dean
M. (Bonnie) of Monroe; two
daughters, Gloria (John)
Noland of Monroe and Lynette
Kaiser of Farmington; a broth-
er, Richard (Marlene) of
Temperance; two sisters, Anna
Mae (Bernard) Rathke of
Dundee and Juanita (Earl)
Dussia of Tecumseh; 11 grand-
children, and nine great-grand-
children.

In addition to his wife, he
was preceded in death by a son,
Allen. :
