John Spry Dec. 4, 1915-April 13, 2003 CARLETON - John Spry, 87, of Carleton died Sunday at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe. Friends may call until 9 tonight at Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home’s Carleton chapel, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev, Harold Ervin will offici- ate. Burial will be in Huron Valley Cemetery, Flat Rock. Born Dec. 4, 1915, in Letitia, Ky, he was the son of James and Daisy (Glespie) Spry. He married Violet Parker July 13, 1936, in Kentucky. © es A clerk, he worked for DT&l Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Spry, an Ash Township resident for 35 years, was a member of the railway clerk union and Wildbird and Game. He raised many types of birds. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Johnny (Laura) of Detroit Beach and Kenneth (Betty) of Rose City; three daughters, Donna (Joe) Scheuer of Newport and Carylon (Ray) Johnston and Pam (Charles) Perkins, both of Carleton; a brother, Alfred of Kentucky; 14 grandchil- dren, and 23 great-grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie, a brother and three sisters. Memorials may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
