2 Evening News, Wed., May 7, 1997 oon a LEE TLE LT CLT RATT Forest E. Crooks FLAT ROCK— Forest Elton (Joe) Crooks, 76, of Flat Rock died at 9:42 p.m. Monday at his home after an extended illness. . Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, where i services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Pastor Turner Paseur of the Church of Christ, Red Bay, Ala., will officiate, assisted by Minister Timothy J. Dunn of the Flat Rock Church of Christ. Entombment will be at Huron Valley Cemetery. Born June 15, 1921, in Port Creek, he was the son of Forest R. and Lucille M. (Quick) Crooks. He was married on May 15, 1943, to Juanita M. Conrad at the Grosse Tle Naval Base chapel. Mr. Crooks had been employed as a laboratory analyst for Mobil Oil for three years and was then employed for 24 years by Mon- santo Chemical, retiring on Jan. 1, 1982. ! A Navy veteran of World War II, ~ he served from 1942-45 in Guam, New Hebrides, the Solomon Islands and other locations in the South Pacific. After the war, he and his father owned and operat- ed Forest Crooks & Son Brikcete until 1957, He was a member of the Flat Rock Church of Christ; Miller- Strawn Post 9363, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the National American Legion. A 1939 graduate of Flat Rock High School, he enjoyed wood- working and building. Surviving are his wife; his moth- er of Flat Rock; three sons, Wayne of Madison, Ohio, Ronald of St. Louis, Mo., and Richard of Lin- coln Park; a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey ~ | (Sue) Piippo of Trenton, and five grandchildren. bien He was preceded in death by his father. oe Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Henry Ford of Wyan- dotte. :
