Louis John Ernest 3 / F ae Aug. 8, 1915-March 30, 2000 FLAT ROCK ~ Sunday school teacher Louis John Ernest, 84, of Flat Rock died Thursday at Frenchtown Nursing Care Center, Monroe. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home. He will lie in state from 10 until services at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, Waltz. Dr. , Dennis M. a Berkesch, pastor of the church, will LOUIS J. ERNEST officiate. Burial will be in Huron Valley Cemetery. Born Aug. 8, 1915, in Flat Rock} he was the son of John and Augusta (Metzeger) Ernest. He married Leona Hoffman June 10, 1939, at St. John parsonage, Waltz. For 37 years he was employed by Pennwalt, retiring in 1978 as a chemical operator, He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he wasa superintendent of Sunday school and a teacher for 17 years. He also ‘was an elder at the church. He had lived in Flat Rock for 83 years. © 3 Surviving are his wife; two sons, Ross of Pennsylvania and Dennis of Freeland; a brother, Charles of Rockwood, and two grandsons.
