Born Aug. 8, 1915, in Flat Rock} he
was the son of John and Augusta
(Metzeger) Ernest. He married
Leona Hoffman June 10, 1939, at
St. John parsonage, Waltz.

For 37 years he was employed by
Pennwalt, retiring in 1978 as a
chemical operator,

He was a member of St. John
Lutheran Church, where he wasa
superintendent of Sunday school
and a teacher for 17 years. He also

‘was an elder at the church.
He had lived in Flat Rock for 83

Surviving are his wife; two sons,
Ross of Pennsylvania and Dennis
of Freeland; a brother, Charles of
Rockwood, and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a
daughter; a brother, Earl (Ray), and
agrandson. |: r

Memorials may be made to St.
John Lutheran Church or Christ
Our Savior Church in Newport.
