Stun, ov, ts | 2. Fern M. Follbaum FLAT ROCK — Fern M. Foll- baum, 78, of Flat Rock died at 5:55 a.m. Saturday in the Beach Nursing Home, Monroe, of natur- al causes. She had been in poor health for nine years. Friends may call from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today, from 2 to 9 p.m. Mon- day and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home Inc., Flat Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tues- day in the funeral home, with the Rev. Alan W. De Graw of First United Methodist Church in Flat Rock officiating. Entombment will be in Huron Valley Cemetery, Flat Rock. Born Jan. 19, 1914, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Samuel and Nellie (Winnie) Crooks Sr. She married Walter F. Follbaum in Linden, Mich., in May, 1939. The couple made their home in Flat Rock for 38 years, and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1989. Mrs. Follbaum owned and oper- ated Fern’s Beauty Shoppe on Telegraph and Van Horn Rds. in Flat Rock for 20 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of First Unit- ed Methodist Church, Flat Rock, and several of the church’s organi- zations; the Order of the Eastern Star in Edinburg, Ind., and the Flat Rock Cub Scouts. Surviving are her husband, Wal- ter F; two sons, Terry Follbaum of Shelby Township and Gary Foll- baum of Grosse Ile; four grand- children and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Forest Crooks Sr., Wesley Crooks, Harry Crooks and Allen Crooks, and one sister, Gertrude. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
