8 ‘ ay é Qeo Howard “tox d 2 Sept. 20, 1910 — May 5, 2001 NEWPORT -— _ Howard Conrad Fox, 90, of Newport died Saturday at Tender Care of Monroe. Friends may call from 1 to 9 tonight at the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton. He will lie in state from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, where ser- vices will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Larry K. Loree Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Palmyra Cemetery, Palmyra. Born Sept. 20, 1910, in Frenchtown Township he was the son of J. William Fox and Rose Stumpmier. He married Mary L. Hoffman Aug. 27, 1941, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Parsonage. Mr. Fox was a farmer for more than 50 years before retir- ing in 1972. He also drove a school bus for Airport Community Schools for six years. He was a member of the Lenawee County Archers Club in Adrian, where he won a national award in field archery. He was a member of the Frenchtown Senior Citizens * and was a member and past president of the Holy Ghost _ Men’s Club. In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by a son, David ‘ H. (Robin) of LaSalle; a daugh- ter, Carole R. Laura of Woodhaven; a sister, Eleanor . Nagy of Trenton, and four - grandchildren. He was preceded in death by = asister, Leola Fox, anda grand- daughter, Katie Fox. Memorials may be made to - the Holy Ghost. Lutheran ° Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
