Gaynier, 73, of LaSalle died at 12:54 a.m. Sunday in St. Vincent Mercy Med- ical Center, Toledo, where he had been since Feb. 10. Bur- ial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Born Oct. 5, 1924, in LaSalle, he was the son of Roy C. and Mar- garet (Masson) Gaynier. He mar- ‘ried Bernice F. Jott on April 10, 1948, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Temperance. He was a self-employed, life- long farmer and also was employed as a truck driver. He served in the Navy during World War II from February of 1945 to October of 1945. He was a life member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He served on the LaSalle Township volunteer fire department from 1954 to 1974. He attended Sharkey School. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, bowler and card player. Surviving are his wife; four sons, Donald T. of LaSalle, Dean H. of Monroe, Dennis M. of Lam- bertville, and Desi A. of Lake- wood, Colo.; four daughters, Michele A. Nolan of New Smyr- na Beach, Fla., Mrs. Steve ° (Yvonne M.) Stanfill of Monroe, AnnaMarie K. Gaynier of LaSalle, and Mrs. Brian (Pamela S.) O’Rourke of Carleton; two broth- ers, Elton P. of Monroe and Roy L. of LaSalle, and 15 grandchildren.
